Shaul Freedman

Shaul Freedman studied acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

in Tel Aviv, Israel and spent some time in China.

He has been in practice since 1999 and works from a

Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective.

He has worked in Israel and Cape Town treating a wide range

of conditions with acupuncture.

He lectured on acupuncture for two years in the School of

Natural Medicine at University of the Western Cape.

For many years he has been an integral part of the

Flying Needle Project, a community acupuncture clinic that

provides a service to those who cannot afford current rates

for private acupuncture with a goal to help uplift the

community and improve the health and longevity of

all South Africans.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese Medicine philosophy.

According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine,

illness is caused when chi (the body’s natural energy) does not

flow properly throughout the body.

Acupuncturists determine whether chi is weak, stagnant or

otherwise out of balance, which indicates the points to be

stimulated.

Using very thin, disposable metal needles in specific points on

the body it enhances and balances the flow of the body’s

natural energies and effectively activates the body’s

self-healing process.
